System prepping a new loop

10 steps · 90 min·Beginner-safe·Updated Jan 2026

Machining oil, casting flux and cutting debris ship inside every new block and radiator. This is the sequence that gets them out before your coolant ever touches metal — and the reasoning behind each stage, so you can adapt it to your own parts list.

Steps
You'll need
SysPrep · 1 bottle
PrimoPrep · 1 bottle (2 oz)
Rad Clean · 1 bottle per radiator
Distilled or DI water · 5 gal
External pump or PSU jumper
Bucket, funnel, lint-free cloth
Plastic fill-port caps
System prepping a new loop
Step 01 of 10

Read the whole guide first

Before a single fitting comes off, read to the end. Prep is a sequence, and the most expensive mistakes happen when someone starts step 4 without knowing what step 6 requires. Lay out every bottle and tool where you can see it.

Why this matters

Half the support tickets we get are from builds where a step ran out of order — usually coolant went in before the radiators were flushed.
