PrimoPrep: pH-stabilizing the loop before final coolant

PrimoPrep runs the same conditioning mechanics as SysPrep and System Reboot — mixed into water and circulated through the sealed loop — but for longer, and for a different reason. Rather than lifting debris, it coats the inside of the loop and neutralizes the pH swing a large copper radiator introduces, which matters most in a mixed-metal system. Run it after SysPrep on a new build, or after System Reboot on a loop that already ran coolant — PrimoPrep is the final conditioning stage before your permanent fill.

Materials compatibility

PrimoPrep is not compatible with aluminium components. It is safe on acrylic, PETG and other plastics, rubber gaskets and O-rings, and all standard tubing and fittings.

Steps
You'll need
PrimoPrep · 1 bottle (2 oz) per batch
Fresh DI or distilled water · 1 quart (32 oz) per batch, plus 2+ gallons for flushing
External mixing container
Drain valve (recommended)

Confirm the loop is leak-free first

PrimoPrep runs for three full days — pressure-test or run a paper-towel leak test before you mix anything. See the leak-testing guide if you have not done this yet.

Why this matters

A slow weep that is invisible in a 20-minute bench check can put real volume on a component over 72 hours of continuous circulation.
